I just returned home from a very emotional weekend.  I am exhausted and drained, but the family quality time that we spent together was priceless.

I am so proud of my brother and his entire family.   They planned an extremely special, personalized “celebration of life” service that honored the loss of my sister-in-law.

My brother purchased 59 gorgeous, long-stemmed, red roses in memory of the 59 years he had spent with his wife.  He shared those roses with each person who attended her funeral.   He then placed one white rose in her casket, to be buried with her,  as a memento of this year, their 60th year, an anniversary they only missed by a few days.

His loving presentation of the white rose caused me the most tears, but it was a beautiful tribute that I will never forget.

We all get caught up in the “busy-ness” of life, but I hope that I will spend more time focusing on building better relationships with people I care about.
