My next few posts are going to be about change.  Change is just not easy.  I think people react to change in varying ways, and some of my friends want to avoid it altogether (almost like it’s a phobia).  I, like almost everyone, don’t enjoy change “during” the change, but I usually do like the outcome, once I’ve transitioned.

Today I visited my new church.  I had to make myself go, because it was new and I was going by myself.  It made it a little easier that I had  been through this before in several cities.  But I was still nervous and uneasy…at first.

I sat next to some other women, and introduced myself.  They were warm and friendly.  Then the praise band played some of my most favorite songs.  I admit to you that I have tons of favorite songs, so the chances of them singing at least one were very good.   I love music and was instantly refreshed and energized.

Add the bonus of a superb message from the pastor and I knew I had done the right thing – pushing through my fear.   For me, this is what church is about.  Worshiping and feeling closer to the God I adore and reaffirming how much He loves me.
